Freedom, Unity, and Sacrifice
Freedom and unity are impossible to obtain without sacrifice. I’ve come to learn that achieving perfection is an impossible task. Yet, the more I pay attention to my surroundings, the more I see that perfection is the one thing we won’t sacrifice. If you want to be free, then you must abandon the concept of perfection.
sac·ri·fice
/ˈsakrəˌfīs/
noun
an act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy.
What are you willing to give up for the sake of something else?
Many will find this answer easy to say, but hard to demonstrate. I’ve been blessed to live a life where sacrifice is hardly required for the day-to-day man.
Or is that a curse to live in a land where you’re taught to take more than you give?
free·dom
/ˈfrēdəm/
noun
Once you’ve sacrificed the aim to achieve perfection, then you unlock a new ambition. The hope to obtain true freedom.
Freedom from expectations.
Freedom from greed.
Freedom to be yourself.
Ironic that sacrificing gives you more than you can obtain than taking.
u·ni·ty
/ˈyo͞onədē/
noun
1.
the state of being united or joined as a whole.
That freedom allows you to walk into new spaces.
Share smiles with new faces.
Bring peace into new places.
Reclaim humanity for all races.
But the biggest question is, “what are you willing to sacrifice to bring freedom and unity to all?”
