Make Doubt Look Dumb
doubt
/dout/
noun
a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction.
There will always exist a voice of discouragement that convinces many people to doubt themselves. Now if you believe doubt, then it sounds like a genius. But if you listen closely, doubt sounds really dumb. Don’t believe me? Just ask Consistency.
con·sist·en·cy
/kənˈsistnsē/
noun
conformity in the application of something, typically that which is necessary for the sake of logic, accuracy, or fairness.
the way in which a substance, typically a liquid, holds together; thickness or viscosity.
They say what’s done in the dark will be revealed in the light. Did you know that not all “dark” deeds are disgraceful? Some dedicate their mornings and nights to perfecting their craft. When no one is around, you must encourage yourself to push through and stay consistent. You’ll hear doubt whisper to you.
“You can’t do it.”
“Why are you trying so hard?”
“Just give up.”
Without noticing, doubt is displaying the very trait that you need to be successful. Doubt is consistent. You need to match that energy.
“I can do it.”
“Why would I not try hard?”
“I will never give up.”
And although doubt will never go away, the voice gets quieter and quieter until you can only hear the determination of your will.
So when the light shines on you, let it be the brightest reveal.
