No Judgement

judge

verb

gerund or present participle: judging

  1. form an opinion or conclusion about.

It’s very difficult to live during these times when having an opinion about everything is normalized. You can be wise and mind your business and still be forced to hear the opinions of others. I find myself sharing my thoughts even when no one asked. Even though I believe it’s coming from a good place, it’s not my right to decide to force an unsolicited statement.

Sometimes, the wisest thing to say is nothing at all.

I’ve heard that before. Oh, so many times have I heard that before. The older I get, the more wisdom I’m blessed with. Now when I hear that quote, it’s like a sweet melody to my ears that quiets my judgment-filled thoughts.

“He without sin, cast the first stone.”

help

verb

  1. 1.

make it easier for (someone) to do something by offering one's services or resources.

"they helped her with domestic chores"

It’s in my nature to want to help people.

It’s in my nature to correct people, if it’s related to something I’ve gotten incorrect in the past.

It’s in my nature to want the best for people.

But it’s not in my right to decide what that is for other people.

That’s okay because I’ll be here if they need me. Until then and even after that, God will be with them. What’s better than that?
